Background
I am a professional sociologist and worked for 29 years as the National Social Science Director of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, a Federal agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In this position, I led and managed a number of professional staffs who developed policy, and implemented marketing and outreach projects. This agency, composed of 12,000 employees is the international leader in agricultural conservation, with a domestic customer base of approximately 2 million agricultural producers.
Skills
As a consultant and during my Federal career, I managed and implemented a wide variety of national, regional and local projects that include organizational assessments and customer focused marketing. I have the experience and ability to conduct social surveys and focus group assessments; to analyze data bases; to work with groups to compile strategic plans; to manage and minimize conflict situations; to conduct evaluations; and to use population data to help develop and implement marketing plans.
