Employment

 

Social Science Consultant, (2012 to Present) 

 

Sociologist, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (1983 - 2012). Served in various capacities including Regional Sociologist (Ft Worth, TX), National Sociologist (Washington, D.C.), Director of the Social Sciences Institute/Team (Greensboro, NC), and Director of the Outreach and Advocacy staff (Washington, D.C.).  

 

Researcher, University of Kentucky (1980-1983).  (1) Evaluated the effectiveness of the Geen Thumb pilot project.  This Federally funded national project tested a computer system that downloaded weather, marketing, and agricultural technical information to farmers in Kentucky. (2) Developed Kentucky's 208 non-point source educational plan for agriculture.  

 

Assorted jobs - caddy, mailroom staff, retail clerk, milling machine operator, post office clerk, construction worker, waiter, and bartender.
